Several recent additions and outbuildings were torn down, and Landscape Architect Bruce John Riddell, of Bar Harbor, was brought in to resculpt the grounds, restoring the original stone porch on the water side and creating a granite slab staircase leading from the lawn down to the dock. Riddell also built a stone gazebo that gazes out through the maples and pines to the water. Nearby, new beds of irises, trilliums and starflowers meant to evoke the legendary gardens of Beatrix Farrand at Bar Harbor--give the property a half wild, storybook beauty. “
